ONYX BOOX Note 4 is a large-format E Reader with a frontlit system and touch control, based on a powerful hardware platform. The model has a 10.3” E Ink Mobius Carta screen, thanks to which this E Reader is ideal for working with large-format documents, including files in PDF and DjVu formats. The model is based on the Android 11 operating system and has the built-in Google Play store which allows you to install and use various third-party apps. The built-in Wi-Fi module allows you to use network services, and Bluetooth support allows you to connect wireless devices including headphones and speakers. The audio player, included in the reader software, makes it possible to listen to music and audiobooks, and the support of the TTS (Text-to-Speech) function makes it possible to voice text files. The device has a thin lightweight case with a tempered glass back panel, the screen of the E Reader is covered with Asahi protective glass. A protective cover comes in the complete set.

What E Ink Mobius Carta is...

E Ink Mobius Carta are high resolution (227 dpi) screens made using “electronic paper” technology and featuring a plastic backing and lighter weight. The use of plastic makes these screens less fragile than conventional glass-backed screens. Reading on such a screen is as comfortable as on a regular paper page. The power consumption of the screen occurs only when changing the image.

What SNOW Field is...

SNOW Field is a screen mode that allows to reduce the number of artifacts on the E Ink screen when it is partially refreshed. If this function is on, a full refresh of the screen is not necessary when reading simple text documents.

Screen frontlight

The MOON Light 2 technology allows you to use the device in the dark or in poor light conditions without harming your sight. This function creates a soft glow on the screen that is optimal for dark rooms. The front light has a color temperature adjustment and has no flickering thanks to the Flicker-Free technology.

What MOON Light 2 is...?

The latest researches have shown that blue light interferes with the production of melatonin (a regulator of circadian rhythms), which is necessary for a person to sleep. Therefore, after reading from the glowing screen of an ordinary tablet or smartphone, it is often difficult to fall asleep. The MOON Light 2 backlight allows you to independently adjust the brightness of the cold and warm light LEDs, choosing at will both a whiter light for reading during the day and a more yellow light for reading before going to bed. The Flicker-Free technology completely eliminates the flickering of the LEDs used in this frontlight. This is due to the use of a constant voltage source. The Flicker-Free technology significantly reduces discomfort and eye fatigue and reduces the likelihood of headaches caused by prolonged use of the E Reader.

Capacitive Multi-touch screen

The E Ink Mobius Carta 10.3” display has a lighter background and higher contrast than any screen in this class. It allows you to read in a bright sunlight and has a high screen refresh speed. The absence of flickering front light and the principle of image formation using “electronic ink” makes reading eye-friendly. The multi-touch screen provides easy control when reading: page turning with short taps, page moving, two-finger zoom, making notes in the text and usage of additional options.

Comfort reading

The 10.3” E Ink Mobius Carta display with the SNOW Field function is ideal for viewing documents containing graphs and diagrams, as well as for any PDF or DjVu documents. The absence of flickering frontlight and the principle of image formation using the "electronic ink" method makes reading eye-friendly.

Format Support

The BOOX software allows you to open a number of different text and image file formats. While reading, you can change the style and the size of the font, the position of the pages, add bookmarks and zoom documents at your wish.

Smart cover

The E Reader comes with a smart cover which not only provides effective protection of the screen, but when closed turns automatically the device into standby.

Additional screen protection

Protective glass from a well-known Japanese manufacturer ASAHI is placed over the E Ink screen and protects it from scratches and other damages. The new glass made it possible to abandon additional frame edges, so the screen is located flush to the body of the device. It makes the work with the E reader more comfortable and its look more up-to-date. In addition, a special coating reduces the likelihood of glare on the screen.
