ONYX BOOX Faust 5 is a 6” E Reader made in a classic body with side buttons and with the E Ink Carta screen. The model has touch control and a frontlit system allowing you to adjust the color shade. Its modern high-performance processor together with 2 GB of RAM and 16 GB of internal memory ensure comfortable working speed in all standard modes. Its Wi-Fi module allows you to download ebooks directly into the device, and Bluetooth provides the possibility to connect wireless accessories such as earphones and speakers. Thanks to the Android 11 OS you can install different third-party apps. The pre-installed audio player allows you to listen to the music and audio books. The support of the TTS (Text-To-Speech) function can sound the text files. ONYX BOOX Faust 5 comes with a protective cover case.

What E Ink Carta is...

E Ink Carta is the newest development of E Ink Company. This is a display made on the "electronic paper" technology. Reading on such a screen is as comfortable as on ordinary paper. Compared to previous generations of ePaper, this screen has a lighter base and higher contrast.

What the SNOW Field is...

SNOW Field is an operating mode of the screen, allowing to reduce the number of artifacts on the screen within partial refresh. If this function is on, full refresh of the screen is not needed.

Screen frontlight

The MOON Light 2 technology allows you to use the device in the dark or under poor lighting conditions. When this function is in use, soft luminescence of the screen comfortable for reading in dark rooms is being generated. It also has a color temperature control and, thanks to the use of Flicker-Free technology, the front-light system is perfectly smooth.

Touch control

The capacitive touch screen with the Multi-touch function provides comfortable control when reading or setting the device: scrolling, zooming, running the context menu and much more. Controlling the E Reader is as comfortable as using a smartphone or tablet.

The up to date 4-core Qualcomm processor together with 2 GHz clock rate and 2 GB of RAM ensure a comfort work with the most difficult documents. And 16 GB of nonvolatile memory and a slot for SD cards allow the user to store a huge library of necessary ebooks.

Format support

The BOOX software allows you to open files of various text and graphic formats. When reading you can change font style and size, disposition of pages, insert bookmarks, and zoom documents at will.

ONYX BOOX Faust 5 has several pre-installed dictionaries. Want to translate an unknown word? Just touch it!

Comfortable library

The library sorts ebooks by author, title and series. Convenient search and filters allow you to find quickly any needed book by genre, language, date of publication etc. In addition, standard folders, created on PCs, are supported.

Easy content recording

Along with a standard mode of copying ebooks into the device with the help of a USB-cable, you may use Wi-Fi or Bluetooth or a QR-code to transfer files. Also a cloud PUSH-service send2boox is available.

Smart cover

The E Reader comes with a smart cover which not only provides effective protection of the screen, but when closed turns automatically the device into standby mode.

Bluetooth module

Thanks to a built-in Bluetooth module of the 5.0 standard you can connect external wireless devices such as a keyboard or earphones to listen to audio files.

OTG

The device has a USB Type-C port supporting OTG (On-To-Go), thanks to which you can connect external drives, mice, keyboards and peripherals which do not require additional drivers.

Audio player and TTS

The model has a pre-installed audio player which allows you to listen to the music and audiobooks. To use it, just connect earphones or speakers to the device via Bluetooth and run a corresponding file. The device also supports a TTS (Text-To-Speech) function which can make sound text files.

ONYX BOOX Faust 5 is based on the Android 11 operating system and allows you to install and use various third-party apps, which significantly expand the possibilities of using the device.

The device is designed primarily for reading electronic books, but has some additional features which are defined by the installed software. For example, the current firmware contains such functions as dictionaries, a file manager and others.
