ONYX BOOX Monte Cristo 3

ONYX BOOX Monte Cristo 3 is a device of premium quality for reading electronic books. This model is equipped with the E Ink Carta Plus screen of 6" with the MOON Light system and SNOW Field function. Compared to the previous models, its screen has a higher definition and contrast. Pixel density of the screen is 300 dpi that is a record for this type of E Ink screens and corresponds to the high-quality paper printing. The model is made of high quality materials and has a thin aluminum alloy casing and an ASAHI protective glass. In addition, the reader is equipped with a high-performance 2-core processor, 512 MB of RAM and 8 GB of internal memory. A Wi-Fi module and a built-in browser allows the user to browse the Internet. The Android operating system thanks to its rich selection of programs allows you to open text files of almost any formats and to configure settings of the text for more comfortable reading. The model is equipped with touch buttons of paging, located on the both sides of the front panel and the Back key, traditionally placed under the screen.

Screen lighting

The unique MOON Light technology enables one to use the device in the dark or under poor lighting conditions. When this function is used, soft luminescence of the screen (comfortable for reading) is being generated.

Capacitive Multi-touch screen

E Ink Carta Plus display has a lighter base and higher contrast than other screens of this class. It allows one to read in bright sunlight and has a high rate of screen refresh. Absence of a shimmering light and the principle of image formation with E Ink method makes reading comfortable for eyes. Capacitive sensor, supporting a Multi-touch function, provides an easy control with fingers.

Additional screen protection

Protective glass from the famous Japanese manufacturer ASAHI is located atop the E Ink screen and protects it from scratches and other damage. This new glass allows to avoid additional frames, so the screen is flush with the body of the device. This makes the e-book more comfortable and it looks more modern. In addition a special coating reduces the glare of the screen.

High efficiency

A dual-core processor with 1 GHz clock rate and 512 MB of random access memory ensures comfortable work with difficult documents. And 8 GB of nonvolatile memory and a microSD-slot supporting memory cards up to 32 GB allows the user to store a large library.

Format support

The BOOX software allows the user to open files of various text and graphic formats. When reading you can change font style and size, disposition of pages, insert bookmarks, add your own fonts and zoom documents at will.

Built-in dictionaries

There are pre-installed English-Russian and Russian-English dictionaries in Monte Cristo 3. To translate an unknown word just choose it in the text.

Smart cover

The kit comes with a smart cover which not only provides effective protection of the screen, but when closed turns automatically the device to sleep mode.

Bluetooth

Thanks to a built-in Bluetooth module of 4.0 standard you can connect an external keyboard or wireless earphones for listening audio books.

Reprogramming option

Monte Cristo 3 allows the user to write personal software using the potentials of the Android 4.2 platform.
