What is E Ink Carta Plus?

E Ink Carta Plus is the latest generation of screens made on the "electronic paper" technology. Compared to previous models, this screen has higher definition and contrast. Pixel density of the screen is 300 dpi that is a record for this type of E Ink screens and corresponds to high-quality paper printing. Reading on such screens is as comfortable as from the page of a good paper book.

What is Regal?

Regal is an operating mode of the screen, allowing to reduce the number of artifacts on the screen within partial refresh. If this function is on, full refresh of the screen is not needed.

Screen front light system

The MOON Light 2 technology enables one to use the device in the dark or under poor lighting conditions. When this function is in use, soft luminescence of the screen comfortable for reading in dark rooms is being generated. It also has a color temperature control and, thanks to the use of Flicker-Free technology, the front-light system is perfectly smooth.

What is MOON Light 2?

The latest researches have shown that blue light prevents the production of melatonin (daily rhythms regulator), which is necessary for a person to sleep. Therefore, after reading on a glowing screen of an ordinary tablet or smartphone, it is often difficult to fall asleep. MOON Light 2 allows you to adjust the brightness of cold and warm LED lights independently, choosing at will white light for reading during the daytime, and more yellow for reading before sleeping. The Flicker-Free technology completely eliminates shimmering of the LEDs used in this screen frontlight system. This is due to the use of a DC power supply.The Flicker-Free technology significantly reduces discomfort for sight and eye fatigue and decreases the chances of headache, caused by long use of the eReader.

Increased screen diagonal

The ONYX BOOX Nova Air screen, increased up to 7.8 inches, displays 68% more information than similar 6" screens. At the same time, the device is compact enough for comfortable use during trips and travels.

Double sensor control

The Nova Air has two sensor layers. A multi-touch capacitive layer is located over the screen surface. You can page e-books and zoom documents with intuitive two-finger pinch. In addition, a Wacom sensor layer is located under the E Ink panel. Thanks to this, you can make notes on the margins and sketch using a special stylus which comes with the device. The stylus recognizes 4096 degrees of pressure and allows you to draw with extreme accuracy.

Additional screen protection

Protective glass from a well-known Japanese manufacturer ASAHI is placed over the E Ink screen and protects it from scratches and other damages. The new glass made it possible to abandon additional frame edges, so the screen is located flush with the body of the device. It makes the work with the e-reader more comfortable and its look more up-to-date. In addition, a special coating reduces the likelihood of glare on the screen.

Outstanding technical specifications

The 8-core processor with 1.8 GHz clock rate and 3 GB of RAM ensures comfortable work with the most difficult documents. And 32 GB of nonvolatile memory allows the user to store a considerable library of technical literature.

Dictionaries

The software of the device allows you to install additional dictionary databases in the Stardict format at your wish or to download offered dictionaries automatically when you connect to Wi-Fi in the dictionary settings.

Audio player

The device has an audio player so you can listen to music or audio books. For this purpose just run a corresponding file. You also can connect to the E Reader earphones or external speakers both Bluetooth or USB Type C.
