ONYX BOOX Volta 4
ONYX BOOX VOLTA 4 is a 6” E Reader in a thin compact body with the E Ink Carta screen. The model is equipped with a frontlit system with color temperature and touch controls. A modern high-performance processor together with 2 GB of RAM and 16 GB of internal memory provides a comfortable speed in all standard modes. A Wi-Fi module allows you to download ebooks directly into the device, and Bluetooth provides the possibility to connect wireless accessories such as earphones and speakers. Thanks to the Android 11 OS you can install different third-party apps. The pre-installed audio player allows you to listen to the music and audio books. The support of the TTS (Text-To-Speech) function can sound the text files. VOLTA 4 comes with a case cover with SIDE-control buttons.
What E Ink Carta is...
E Ink Carta is the newest development of E Ink Company. This is a display made on the "electronic paper" technology. Reading on such a screen is as comfortable as on ordinary paper. Compared to previous generations of ePaper, this screen has a lighter base and higher contrast.
What the SNOW Field is...
SNOW Field is an operating mode of the screen, allowing to reduce the number of artifacts on the screen within partial refresh. If this function is on, full refresh of the screen is not needed.
Screen frontlight
The MOON Light 2 technology allows you to use the device in the dark or under poor lighting conditions. When this function is in use, soft luminescence of the screen comfortable for reading in dark rooms is being generated. It also has a color temperature control and, thanks to the use of Flicker-Free technology, the front-light system is perfectly smooth.
What MOON Light 2 is...
The latest researches have shown that blue light prevents the production of melatonin (daily rhythms regulator), which is necessary for a person to sleep. Therefore, after reading on a glowing screen of an ordinary tablet or smartphone, it is often difficult to fall asleep. MOON Light 2 allows you to adjust the brightness of cold and warm LED lights independently, choosing at will white light for reading during the daytime, and more yellow for reading before sleeping. The Flicker-Free technology completely eliminates shimmering of the LEDs used in this screen front light system. This is due to the use of a DC power supply. The Flicker-Free technology significantly reduces discomfort for sight and eye fatigue and decreases the chances of headache, caused by long use of the E Reader.
Touch control
The capacitive touch screen with the Multi-touch function provides convenient control when reading or setting the device: scrolling, zooming, running the context menu and much more. Controlling the E Reader is as comfortable as using a smartphone or tablet.
Outstanding technical specifications
The up to date 4-core Qualcomm processor together with 2 GHz clock rate and 2 GB of RAM ensure a comfort work with the most difficult documents. And 16 GB of nonvolatile memory and a slot for SD cards allow the user to store a huge library of necessary ebooks.
Format support
The BOOX software allows you to open files of various text and graphic formats. When reading you can change font style and size, disposition of pages, insert bookmarks, and zoom documents at will.

Comfortable library
The library sorts ebooks by author, title and series. Convenient search and filters allow you to find quickly any needed book by genre, language, date of publication etc. In addition, standard folders, created on PCs, are supported.
Easy content recording
Along with a standard mode of copying ebooks into the device with the help of a USB-cable, you may use Wi-Fi or Bluetooth or a QR-code to transfer files. Also a cloud PUSH-service send2boox is available.
Cover case with the SIDE Control technology
The device comes with a smart cover which not only provides effective protection of the screen, but when closed turns automatically the device into a sleep mode. On its right side there are convenient scrolling buttons.
Bluetooth module
Thanks to a built-in Bluetooth module of the 5.0 standard you can connect an external keyboard or other external devices, and listen to audio files.
OTG
The device has a USB Type-C port supporting OTG (On-To-Go), thanks to which you can connect external drives, mice, keyboards and peripherals which do not require additional drivers.
Audio player and TTS

Note: Since a part of the Flash memory size is system software, the portion available to the user is less than the total size of the memory chip.
